EMCO VT 400 for complete machining of complex and large workpieces

EMCO Group has introduced the new CNC inverted lathe VT 400. It can be a pure lathe or a lathe with additional drilling and milling functions. It is suitable for the complete machining of disc-shaped workpieces up to 400 mm in diameter, 200 mm in length and 40 kg in weight, wherein the maximum diameter of the workpiece after clamping is 450 mm. The new CNC inverted lathe offers the best solution for its class. The machine is an automated production unit with a compact structure and a small footprint.

The EMCO automation concept provides customers with a personalized solution. The pick-up system eliminates the need for additional loading systems for the workpiece and can be easily connected to the machine to meet the needs of different customers. The spindle runs on the X and Z axes and the workpiece is configured to ensure that no debris is lost. The hardened welded steel structure of the vibration damping machine meets the high requirements of users. The same applies to the thermally symmetrical structure of the headstock. The high rigidity allows a large distance between the guide rails in the slide system and the linear guide rails of size 55/45.

The spindle's CNC synchronous motor provides a maximum drive power of 36 kW, a rotational speed of 4000 rpm and a torque of 600 Nm to ensure smooth machining. The 40 mm diameter, power ball screw spindle with gear and maintenance-free jaw joints produces speeds of up to 45 m/min. The stroke is: X = 1000, Z = 400 and Y = +/- 90mm. When the power is turned off, the Z-axis can be prevented from falling by mechanical weight compensation.

Both internal and external enclosures are designed for low maintenance. The stainless steel housing and dust cover do not require telescoping; the rails and seals prevent flying debris. A completely sealed enclosure is both economical and environmentally friendly, as the door is closed even when the workpiece is clamped. This compact area of ​​6.2 square meters accommodates all the functions of a vertical lathe or a complete machine.

The CNC inverted lathe VT 400 is available in two versions and additional options. In addition to the basic version without the Y-axis, the EMCO offers a new version with a moving turret shaft and power tool for complete machining. Multi-function panels as well as fixed or powered tools are optional. This also applies to long drills and grooving tools. At the same time, users can also choose to configure linear optical measurement systems, process monitoring and electronic analysis for the VT 400.
