High-conductivity copper alloys are widely used in military, aerospace, shipbuilding, high-speed rail, subway, electric vehicles, and communications equipment. However, 50% of the high-conductivity copper alloys that China needs every year are imported. The HGLN-high conductivity non-silver copper alloy technology successfully developed by Lianghui Copper Material Co., Ltd. of Sichuan Province has recently passed the evaluation of national scientific and technological achievements in Beijing.
According to tests conducted by the China Institute of Testing Technology, HGLN-high-conductivity non-silver-copper alloy products have a low resistivity, a stable electrical conductivity of 106.3%, and an increase of 4-5 percentage points in the electrical conductivity of copper materials. The actual application results are excellent. The Sichuan Chengdu Product Quality Inspection Institute and the Chengdu Energy Saving Technology Service Center were tested and tested to achieve energy conservation, environmental protection, safety, and durability. Dean of the Institute of Advanced Materials Technology, Beijing University of Science and Technology, and Professor Qu Xuanhui, director of the Beijing Key Laboratory of Advanced Powder Metallurgy Materials and Technology, agreed that the product's conductivity has reached the international advanced level.
The principle of copper alloy conduction is that the copper nucleus is positively charged and the extranuclear electrons orbit the atoms under the bondage of the nucleus. This structure is similar to the earth's operation around the sun. The internal electrons of copper can be separated from the nucleus and become free electrons. When current flows in the circuit, the free electrons move in the same direction so that the copper can conduct electricity. The international standard for the conductivity of copper alloys is 100%, and it has continued for many years. In recent years, some experts have proposed more than 102% of the theoretical conductivity, but no specific production process has been studied.
Professor Sun Jiayue of the New Materials Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society said that the HGLN-high-conductivity non-silver-copper alloy project uses a vacuum medium frequency induction melting process to break through key production technologies and has built a production line with an annual output of 5,000 tons of high-conductivity copper alloys; The special additive and vacuum melting process based on the elements improves the purity of the copper raw materials and improves the microstructure of the copper ingots to produce HGLN, a new material with high conductivity and no silver-copper alloy. The technology has now achieved two invention benefits and one utility model patent.
“This material is used in aerospace and naval vessels and other applications. Due to better electrical conductivity and less materials, it can reduce the weight of aircrafts and ships, reduce the weight of materials, and can also load other equipment. , communication equipment, etc., information transmission speed is faster; used in electric car batteries, can run 10-20 kilometers more than the current battery charge; for submarine cables, due to safety and durability, long service life, save The huge cost of cable replacement, etc.," said He Guoliang, chairman of Sichuan Liang Hui.
Silver is considered to be an excellent conductive material. In many high-end equipment, silver is used as a solder joint material. However, the market price of silver is currently more than 400 million yuan/ton, while the HGLN-high conductivity silver-free copper alloy is sold at about 15 million yuan / ton, experts believe that this will significantly reduce the cost of manufacturing equipment such as electricians.
“At present, the total annual output of functional copper alloys in the world is about 4 million tons, and the annual demand is more than 6 million tons. The deficit between supply and demand is more than 2 million tons. With the modernization and electrical progress in China, the annual demand for functional copper products With an increase of about 10%, He Guoliang said, it can be seen that the market for new functional copper alloy materials is promising and supply and demand are positive.
