Application of Printing Technology in Food and Beverage Industry

Packaging and printing companies such as food, beverages, tobacco, cable, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics need to digitize frequently or at high speed. Barcodes, patterns, or text are printed on the product or on the outer carton. Practice has proved that apply the small print printer mentioned in this article. Cartons, large size printing machines, etc. can greatly increase the production efficiency and the sharpness of the printed texts, thereby enhancing the quality of the products and enabling the company to win a broader market and better economic benefits.

To trace the history of printing on numbers, bar codes, patterns, or texts on products, prior to the invention of non-contact, continuous inkjet printers, screen printing machines, pad printers, and even more primitive mechanical roller stampers were used to complete the printing. The result of this is the poor clarity of the text, which takes time and effort. The production efficiency is low, and because the quality of the product is lost because of the low printing quality, more and more customers and consumers are lost, causing the production companies to suffer losses. So urgently need advanced equipment to replace them.

After the efforts of scientists and many scientific and technological workers, the small-character inkjet printer and the carton inkjet printer were developed. At present, these non-contact continuous inkjet printers have become the first choice to change the status quo behind. Small print printers are mainly used for smaller texts. Digital and graphic prints on sub-products. Carton printing large size machine, as the name implies, used to be large text. Numbers and graphics are printed on the outer carton. These two major categories of non-contact continuous inkjet printing machine compared to the previous printing equipment and technology, at least the following eight common advantages:

(1) The writing is clear and lasting: the computer controls and accurately prints the required numbers and characters. Patterns and bar codes, etc.

(2) High degree of automation: automatic date realization. Lots and numbers were changed to realize the unmanned operation of the printing process.

(3) Wide range of applications: Match any production line. The logo, date of manufacture, description, batch number, etc., can be printed on the surface of various materials, such as plastics, glass, paper, wood, rubber, metal, and other materials.

(4) The programming is convenient and convenient: Input the required figures, characters, patterns and lines and other information through the computer or editor, change the printing information, and press only a few keys to complete.

(5) Adjustable character size: The font width and height are adjustable in the appropriate range, and bold fonts can also be used.

(6) The number of printing lines can be adjusted: the number of printing lines can be adjusted in 1-5 lines, and can be freely matched.

(7) Printing speed is extremely fast: 800 characters/second or 120 meters/minute can be printed at the fastest.

(8) Satisfying special requirements: Invisible ink printing, perfect printing of invisible information or anti-counterfeit identifier on the product.

It is precisely because the non-contact small-character inkjet printer and the carton inkjet printer are the crystallization of computers and high-tech. Its reliability is quite high, the software version is easy to upgrade, the cost of printing once on the product is very low, and it has the above remarkable advantage. Therefore, the small-character inkjet printer and the carton inkjet printer can be widely used in various industries such as food, beverages, alcohol and tobacco, packaging, medicine, cosmetics, electronics, mechanical parts and cables. Many famous inkjet printers also have historical fault records. Even if a fault occurs, maintenance personnel can quickly find the cause of the fault and quickly resolve it.

The famous small-size inkjet printers on the market today include Metronic, Metec, VIDEOJET, Videojet, Imaje, Imaje, and DOMINO, British Domino. EBS Germany EBC, its performance and quality are also quite good. The famous carton-type large-scale printers are EBS Germany, BEIJING, lINX, UK, and New Delhi.

Inkjet printer repair and adjustment

1, inkjet printing principle

The more advanced equipment, the higher the requirements for maintenance personnel. Prior to servicing inkjet printers, it is necessary to understand the principle of inkjet printing and carefully read the manual for its use and maintenance. It is advisable to go through the training of a full-time maintenance engineer of the inkjet printer. The following uses a small-sized printer as an example to introduce the principles of inkjet printing. Under the action of high pressure, ink enters the spray gun. The spray gun is equipped with a crystal resonator. The vibration frequency is approximately 62.5 kHz. Through vibration, the ink is ejected to form a fixed interval. At the same time, the charging pole is charged. The charged ink dots fly off the high voltage electrode and fall off to form a dot matrix on the printed surface. The dots that do not make characters are not charged, so they do not deflect. They are directly injected into the recovery tank and recycled. The dots of ink printed on the surface of the printing material are arranged in a row and they may be full, empty, or in-between. The movement of the object (or the movement of the head) perpendicular to the deflection direction of the ink dots allows the columns to be spaced.

The difference between the principle of the large-size printer and the small-sized printer is that the large-sized machine gun is equipped with a micro electromagnetic valve that can only be opened and closed at high speed and is amorphous. The text or graphics to be printed are processed by the computer board and passed through the output board. And output a series of 7 sets of electrical signals to the 7 micro-shaped solenoid valve, so that the ink dot is printed on the surface to be printed to form a dot matrix, forming a text. Numbers or graphics.

2. Maintenance example

Proficiency in using the printer's program menu, especially the SERVICE menu, is very helpful in quickly diagnosing its failure.

3. Printer Adjustment

Due to the better performance and quality of the EXCEL-100 (170i), only a small amount of adjustment is required in many cases. The adjustments are summarized below.

(1) Alignment of ink flow

1 In the 02SERVICE menu, press F1 to change NKOFF to NKON. HEAD flashes.

2 Loosen the horizontal locking screw slightly and adjust the horizontal adjustment screw so that the ink is directed toward the center of the recovery port. If necessary, the recovery tank can be cleaned. After the completion, tighten the screws.

3 Adjust the vertical adjustment screw so that the ink line is injected into the recovery tank. The best position is 1/4 to 1/3 of the height of the recovery tank. Too high to get out of phase failure, too low may print only half a character.

4 If the ink line is not in the middle of the charging tunnel, use needle-nose pliers to adjust.

(2) Inspection of ink flow

1 Check the pressure gauge reading and adjust the pressure regulator so that the reading is about 40Psi.

2 Press F1 in the 04SERVICE menu and use the arrow to adjust the NOZZLEDRIVE value so that the ink breakpoint is in the middle of the charging tunnel towards the throat (or 3-4 complete ink dots in the middle of the charging tunnel).

3 sets of nozzle sleeves, press SHiFT+F2 key in 03SERVICE menu, adjust ink pressure to set its cursor at SET, then press ENTER, and press F1 in 03 SERVICE menu to observe ink flow time (FLOWTIME), about 3 After minutes, the set value changes.

4 Turn "HIGHVOLTAGE" from OFF to ON under the 02SERVICE menu.

5 test printing. Under the above menu, turn “TESTPRINT” from OFF to ON to move the print head on the surface of the object (note that there is continuous ink line ejection in the print head).

6 look at the printing effect. Adjust NOZZLEDRIVE's value properly and repeat the above steps until the printing effect is satisfactory. When adjusting the point, the average value should be taken. NOZZLEDRIVE should be reduced or increased by 2 points until the printing is not ideal.

Development of inkjet printing

Although the aforementioned small-size printers and carton printers have excellent print performance, the innovative spirit of the world’s scientists and scientists has created the world’s most advanced laser printer. The following uses the Solarjet laser printer as an example to introduce the development of inkjet printers.

Solariet laser marking machine is one of the most advanced laser marking machines in the world: adapting to higher line speeds, up to 300 meters per minute; more powerful coding capability, up to 1800 (products) per minute; more range of typing sizes Large, 100mm × 100mm, minimum line width 0.18mm: The size of the figure 0.5-100 set according to need; easy to install; thousands of operating hours maintenance-free.

The Solarjet printer combines the powerful computer processing capabilities of both inkjet and laser inkjet printers. The original size icon display, built-in keyboard provides a wide range of icon marking options, and requires only simple training, operation and maintenance personnel can be skilled use. External personal computers with icons and text editors can be used to generate complex icons and other characters that are then transmitted to the printer system. The full range of tagging options can easily be options, serial numbers, dates and times. Coding fonts and directions are marked, and there is the ability to preview the effects of the coding. Therefore, Solarjet printers have a wider range of applications and have the ability to integrate small prints and large prints. They are expected to become the new application equipment for the packaging industry (currently the price of its equipment is comparable to that of small-character inkjet printers and carton inkjet printers. Relatively high).

Solarjet printers also provide smooth, continuous word printing, which can be widely used in a variety of packaging materials, such as paper, cardboard, aluminum foil, metal, plastic and so on.
