The price of flooring rises and the raw material rises

It is understood that many floor manufacturers have recently been struggling to raise prices. As production costs continue to rise, manufacturers have raised their floor-to-ceiling prices, which has directly caused orders to decline; however, if prices do not increase, profits will be affected.

Rising floor prices from wood to board increase nearly 10%-40%

In the context of inflation, the timber industry is no exception ushered in the "price surge", most of the cost of wood materials and the market price have increased significantly. According to industry insiders, in the past year, there has been frequent adjustments and huge gains in the production of mango pods; the increase in artificial boards in the first half of the year has risen slightly, and has increased slightly in the second half of the year; some of the best-selling veneer prices have only slightly increased on the basis of the first half of the year; other veneer prices have remained basically stable. . Taking Dongbei Material as an example, the increase in the prices of various kinds of logs in northeast China is rare. In addition, prices of other logs such as beech wood, eucalyptus wood, beech wood, pine wood, etc. have increased significantly.

Judging from the price trend, the best-selling timber is most obviously affected by inflation. Its price has increased in successive months, and the rising momentum is staggering. Wood materials have gained momentum, and wood processing companies have stepped up their stocking. In terms of raw wood panels, whether it is expensive redwood or common wood species, there have been different degrees of increase. From plate manufacturers and some furniture and flooring companies, it has been learned that the domestic and foreign plates have recently been increased in price by about the same amount, and the increase ranged from about 10% to 40%.

“The order may continue to decline; if it does not adjust, profits will be affected.” Li Weijun, owner of a solid wood flooring factory, is rather annoyed, and rising production costs have made him difficult. The reporter learned from some solid wood flooring manufacturing companies that due to rising production costs, manufacturers have raised the floor ex-factory prices, which has directly led to declines in orders.

Li Weijun introduced that the average one-square-meter solid wood floor was adjusted upwards by about 2%, and the retail price was at least 5 yuan per square meter. In the past, more than 100 yuan a square meters of solid wood flooring, now almost can not be found. The continuous decline in timber exports has led to an increase in prices. One ton of solid wood raw materials, only freight has risen to about 290 yuan. Coupled with the increase in labor costs and factory sales for facade rental since last year, companies have to increase product prices.

“Now the floor business is getting harder and harder to do.” Relevant sources revealed that since the beginning of last year, only labor costs have risen to 3,000 yuan/person, and high costs have directly reduced the profits of enterprises. “In the past, profits were at least 30%-40%. Since last year, profits have been limited to only about 20%.” Profits have been squeezed, and companies can only increase the ex-factory price of the products, but the price has been adjusted, leading to a continuous decrease in orders.

Lack of 1-1.5 billion cubic meters of timber supply gap is imperative

The State Forestry Administration held a press conference on the protection and utilization of forest lands. Zhang Jianlong, deputy director of the State Forestry Administration, and Wang Yan, director of the Forest Resources Management Department of the State Forestry Administration, introduced the situation of forestry protection and utilization and planning.

Zhang Jianlong quoted the calculation data of the State Forestry Administration at the news conference, pointing out that in 2007, the total wood consumption converted from domestic forest products reached approximately 371 million cubic meters, but the domestic supply was only 202 million cubic meters and the actual consumption gap exceeded 100 million cubic meters. Meter. It is estimated that by 2020, the total domestic timber consumption in China will increase to 4.57-47.7 billion cubic meters, and the timber supply gap will remain at around 1-150 million cubic meters for a long time.

According to data from the State Forestry Administration, in 2008, the output value of the Chinese forestry industry had reached 1.44 trillion yuan, and the volume of product import and export trade exceeded 70 billion U.S. dollars, which has already become the world’s largest producer and trader of forest products. On the other hand, in the past 20 years, the area and volume of forests in China have also continued to grow. The area of artificial forests has reached 61.69 million hectares, ranking first in the world and accounting for 38% of the global area of planted forests.

Although the floorboard market is huge in output, the demand is increasing simultaneously. With the continuous development in the future, it is very likely that the timber production can not meet the market demand, and the gap in timber supply may cause the floor price to rise continuously. The production enterprises in the flooring industry are facing the problems of rising prices of raw materials, rising wages of workers, and the same is true for terminal enterprises. Just added a rent price factor. Therefore, for companies that maximize profit as their ultimate goal, price increases are an inevitable way to absorb this pressure.

The price increase is imperative. From January 4th, 2010, the flooring industry will adjust the price of the whole line, and the increase will be based on different species, and the range will be between 5% and 20%. ”

Xiao Zejun, general manager of a floor company, said: "I would like to agree with the opinions of you on the issue of price increase. However, we should see that the price increase is not only the increase in the cost of the floor itself, but also the increase in other costs. Now that the market is so fierce, the price The result of the war is more powerful than one, and the end result of this is serving the consumers. However, we must seriously think about how the company itself survives.
