"Development of laser-LED hybrid white light module and its application in laser projector

On June 8th, Fujian Provincial Institute of Physical Structure of the Chinese Academy of Sciences undertook the major science and technology major project in Fujian Province. “The development of laser-LED hybrid white light modules and their application in laser projectors” was approved by experts from the Provincial Science and Technology Department. .

The project revolves around the development needs of the new display industry in Fujian Province, breaking through the preparation of 1.0mm large-area uniform PPMgOLN frequency multiplication chips, the rapid packaging of small-sized green lasers and laser welding, and dynamic and static integration of rotary photo-speckle removal technology and other key technologies. A laser projector prototype using a laser-LED hybrid white light source forms a complete technological innovation chain from the core crystal to the laser to the complete machine. The product laser-LED hybrid white light module has a brightness of 378.4 lm, a speckle contrast ratio of 4.06%, a laser projector brightness of 341 lm, a color gamut of 156%, a uniformity of 95.5%, a resolution of 1308×814, and a contrast ratio of 108.7:1.

During the implementation of the project, 4 patents for inventions were issued, 5 utility model patents were authorized, and 7 papers were published. The related technical achievements successfully achieved transfer and transformation, and Zhongke Jingchuang Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. was established. Through the implementation of thematic projects, a high-level technology and management team with high innovative ability was fostered and trained, and 7 graduate students were trained. The core team members were selected as the innovation team in the key areas of the 2013 Ministry of Science and Technology's innovative talents promotion plan.

The completion of the project effectively solved the bottleneck of low-cost and high-efficiency laser technology in large-scale application of laser display technology in Fujian Province and even China, broke through foreign technology patent barriers, enhanced the core competitiveness of relevant laser display companies in Fujian Province, and promoted the laser display industry. Sustained development provides technical support and accelerates the development of strategic emerging industries.
