**Abstract:**
Yesterday morning, the city held its annual quality work conference. The meeting was dedicated to implementing the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party, as well as the provincial and municipal economic work conferences and the State Council’s "Quality Development Outline (2011–2020)." It reviewed the achievements of 2012, outlined the plans for this year, and recognized outstanding enterprises and individuals in the field of quality management. The event aimed to enhance the city's focus on quality improvement, create a new momentum in quality development, and provide strong support for the construction of the Zhengzhou Metropolitan Area.
Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Ma Wei attended the conference and presented awards to the recipients of the 2012 Zhengzhou Mayor Quality Award. Jiang Huizhong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau, along with city leaders Wang Yuehua, Liu Quanxin, Ma Jian, and Niu Xiling, also participated in the event.
Deputy Mayor Ma Jian delivered a report on the city's quality work in 2012 and outlined the key tasks for 2013. This year, the city will fully implement national and provincial quality goals, accelerate quality improvements, promote brand development, and lead the construction of three major projects. Efforts will be made to enhance quality management, integrity systems, testing technology, and the four quality and safety supervision systems. These initiatives aim to elevate the overall quality level and gradually build a "strong quality city" that supports the sound and rapid development of the economy and society in the Central Plains Economic Zone.
Jiang Huizhong commended the city for its proactive approach in ensuring people's production and life safety. He highlighted the successful implementation of a new mechanism tailored to Zhengzhou's local characteristics, emphasizing the importance of following a quality-driven path and leading the province in quality development. The Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau expressed its willingness to continue supporting Zhengzhou's efforts in quality improvement.
At the conference, representatives from five companies—Zhengzhou Huarun Gas Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou An Nike Industrial Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Huajing Diamond Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Shuangfeng Shoes Co., Ltd., and Henan Zhongfu Industrial Co., Ltd.—were honored with the 2012 Mayor Quality Award. Additionally, 44 companies, including Zhengzhou Sanquan Food Co., Ltd., were recognized for being "Henan Famous Brands," while 18 enterprises and institutions received the 2011 Standardization Award.
To further implement the quality-based strategy, the city allocated a total of 26.75 million yuan in rewards this year, an increase of 7.75 million yuan compared to 2011. Each of the five companies winning the Mayor Quality Award received 1 million yuan, while the 44 Henan Famous Brand companies received a combined total of 17.6 million yuan. The 18 standardization award winners received 4.15 million yuan in total.
