Chinese Academy of Sciences Semiconductor successfully developed visual chip

With the support of the National Natural Science and Technology Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wu Nanjian, a researcher at the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Wancheng and Fu Qiu Yu successfully developed a new type of visual chip. Recently, the research results were published in the newly published "International Academic Journal of Solid-state Circuits".

According to reports, the chip has an image sensor pixel array and processing unit array circuit separation architecture features, integrates three kinds of processors with different degrees of parallelism: two-dimensional processing unit array, one-dimensional row parallel processor array and embedded microprocessor, The primary, intermediate, and advanced image processing functions were realized, and the contradictions between image resolution, processing functions, processing speed, and chip area were successfully solved. On the chip, high-level image recognition and other sophisticated image processing functions were realized. For the visual chip in the future in the high-speed target tracking, robot vision and rapid image recognition and other fields of application laid a good foundation.
