Doors Inspection
1. Check if the door opens and closes smoothly without any sticking or resistance.
2. Ensure the door is properly inserted into the frame and that there’s no excessive gap, especially around the lock area.
3. Verify that all four sides of the door are aligned with the door frame and listen for any unusual noises when opening or closing.
4. Make sure the door, latch, and lock are not too tight or misaligned, which could cause operational issues.
Windows Inspection
5. Check for gaps between the window and the concrete structure. The window frame should be tightly sealed without any air leaks.
6. Test the window for smooth operation—ensure it opens and closes easily without sticking.
7. Confirm that the window glass is intact and free from cracks or chips.
8. Look under the windowsill for water stains, which may indicate a leak in the window system.
Floor Inspection
9. Check for loose, cracked, or uneven flooring. Walk across the floor to detect any strange sounds or movement.
10. Ensure the floor clearance is appropriate and not excessively wide.
11. Look for black water stains on wooden floors, which can be signs of moisture damage.

Wall Inspection

18. Look for any tilting, bending, or unevenness in the walls or ceiling. Pay attention to any raised or sunken areas.
19. Inspect the walls and corners for water stains or cracks, which may indicate hidden moisture or structural issues.
20. Look for lime spots on interior walls, which can affect the quality of paint or wallpaper.
Kitchen and Bathroom Inspection
21. Check for cracks in the toilet, bathtub, and sink. Even tiny cracks can lead to leaks.
22. Ensure the toilet flushes properly and that the tank makes a normal sound. Listen for any leakage sounds.
23. Confirm that waterproofing is properly applied to the bathtub, basin, and surrounding walls.
24. Inspect kitchen and bathroom tiles for looseness, unevenness, or bumps. Ensure the tiling is solid and well-finished.
25. Check for seepage in the brick joints, which can lead to long-term water damage.
26. Look for leftover cement or debris on fixtures, tiles, and sewage pipes, which may indicate poor construction practices.
27. Test the faucet for proper function and ensure the water flows smoothly without leaks.
28. Confirm that the kitchen has a properly sloped floor drain that doesn’t face the entrance, to prevent water from flowing into the living area.
29. Check that drainage outlets are clear and free from construction debris.
30. Ask neighbors about possible leaks from above, as this can impact your home’s condition.
Additional Checks
31. Inspect kitchen cabinets for warping and check that closet doors open and close smoothly.
32. Test all switches, sockets, and electrical systems. Ensure that the layout of wiring, TV cables, and phone jacks is correct. Electrical safety is crucial, as 30% of fires are caused by electrical faults. According to building codes, each home should have at least five separate circuits to reduce fire risks and extend wire life.
33. Check the material of the water supply pipes. Some cities prohibit the use of galvanized steel pipes. Copper pipes are now widely used due to their durability and health benefits, as they inhibit bacterial growth and improve water quality.
34. Test the gas or electric water heater switch to ensure it works correctly.
35. Check for exposed pipes in the living room, including heating or backflow lines. Too many visible pipes can complicate renovation and affect aesthetics.
