The measurement of water flow is not very difficult. Most of the liquid flow meters of different principles can be used to measure the flow of water, but it is certainly not good if you just install one. This is because the same is the water flow measurement proposition. Due to the different cleanliness of the water, the fluid conditions are different, the flow measurement range is very different, the reliability requirements are different, the measurement accuracy requires high bottom and the cost tolerance is different. The selection is different. Strictly speaking, it is not an easy task to select an instrument that is both good and economical among the many types of instruments that can be selected. This not only requires engineers to have a full understanding of the characteristics of various liquid flow meters, but also for measurement objects for process monitoring and control. For water flow meters for process monitoring and control, the requirements for measurement accuracy of turbine liquid flow meters are generally not as high as those used for trade settlement. The main considerations are reliability, price, and type of output signal.
In the old equipment of industrial and mining enterprises, the most used is still the throttle type differential pressure liquid flow meter. In the new installation, people prefer to use the vortex liquid flow meter. This is because the throttle type differential pressure liquid flowmeter has complicated installation, large maintenance workload, large pressure loss, and the open-air installation instrument needs to consider antifreeze, etc. The installation and maintenance of the liquid flow meter is very simple, so the throttle type differential pressure liquid flow meter is greatly squeezed out of the market in the water flow measurement. However, the vortex liquid flowmeter can only solve part of the water flow measurement problem, because the vortex liquid flowmeter with larger diameter is more expensive than the electromagnetic liquid flowmeter of the same diameter, and the vortex liquid flowmeter with the largest diameter can only do it. Installation method:

: The instrument is installed with flange connection, threaded connection and clip-on type;

: The direction of liquid flow during installation should be consistent with the direction of the arrow indicating the flow direction on the sensor casing, and the upstream straight pipe section should be ≥20dn , and the downstream straight pipe section should be ≥5dn , where d is the pipe inner diameter.

: The sensor should be kept away from the external magnetic field. If it cannot be avoided, the necessary measures should be taken;

: In order to prevent the normal transportation of the liquid during maintenance, the bypass pipe should be installed outside the straight pipe section at both ends of the sensor;

: The liquid liquid flowmeter sensor can be installed horizontally and vertically, and the fluid direction must be upward when hanging. The liquid should be filled with tubing and must be free of air bubbles. When installing, the direction of liquid flow should be the same as the direction of the arrow on the sensor housing indicating the direction of flow. The upstream end of the sensor shall have at least 20 times the straight pipe length of the nominal diameter, and the downstream end shall be not less than 5 times the straight pipe section of the nominal diameter. The inner wall shall be smooth and clean without defects such as dents, scale and skin.

: If the fluid is unstable and there is pulsating flow, a buffer can be installed to ensure good measurement of the rotor liquid flow meter to eliminate the pulsating flow. When the rotor liquid flow meter is in use, the control valve on the upstream pipe of the liquid flow meter should be slowly unscrewed, and then the flow rate should be adjusted by the regulating valve to avoid the sudden opening of the float causing the float to rise and damage the cone.
