Zhongdian Photovoltaic Battery Conversion Efficiency up to 20.3% More than 20% of high-efficiency single-crystal silicon cells developed by CSUN at the beginning of this year have been confirmed by the Fraunhofer ISE (Fraunhofer ISE) in Germany. The measured efficiency has reached 20.3%.

This battery cell combines the new generation of WARATAH technology and QSAR technology independently developed by CLP. At the same time, it adopts a brand-new battery structure design and uses ordinary solar grade silicon wafers to complete the production on an ordinary battery production line. The product adopts traditional screen printing technology and realizes the basic requirements of high efficiency, high stability and high power output of the solar industry without using higher-level silicon wafers. The technology's component products also enable customers to save costs, reduce the use of the area, especially for applications such as building integrated roof.

It is understood that the 863 special project undertaken by China Light & Power PV Co., Ltd. has already begun the implementation of key technology research and demonstration production lines for industrialization of low-cost crystalline silicon cells with an efficiency of over 20%. It is planned that by the end of 2014, the conversion efficiency of solar cell mass production will be increased to more than 20%, the cost of power generation will be reduced, and the cost competitiveness of photovoltaic power generation and conventional thermal power will be increased. This is of great significance for firmly grasping the commanding position of the future energy industry, forming core competitiveness in domestic and foreign markets, and promoting the rapid and healthy development of the country's new energy.

Combining the new-generation WARATAH technology and QSAR technology, and implementing the requirements of the national 863 project plan, China Light & Power PV is also preparing to mass-produce the high-efficiency battery product. Currently, a 70MW battery production line and a 15MW component line have been built in the new R&D building. Debugging is in progress and it is expected that mass production can be achieved by the end of 2013.

It is worth mentioning that the positive efficiency of double-sided batteries exceeds 20%, and the conversion efficiency of double-sided integrated circuits exceeds 24%.
