Fixture quick change method in robot welding system


Convenient quick change of fixtures can greatly improve the equipment utilization of the welding system, allowing users to adjust production at any time according to demand, reducing repetitive investment and equipment idle. At the same time, with the quick change function of the fixture, it is also possible to first project the fixture in the trial production and small batch production stage of the new product, to produce on the existing robot welding line, and to build a new welding line before the mass production stage.
Design and quick change of the whole clamp beam quick change
Quick-change connection between the clamp beam and the positioner: Locating pins are installed on both sides of the clamp, the positioning pin sleeve is used on one side of the flange of the positioner, and the key groove is used on the other side. When connecting, the positioning pins on both sides of the clamp are positioned by gravity into the pin sleeve and the keyway, and the flip screws on both sides of the connecting plate press the connecting plate. This quick-change structure (see Figure 8) is simple and reliable, and has good positioning repeatability. It has become the standard for universal quick-change structure.

Quick change structure between clamp beam and positioner
The weight of the fixture is usually 200 to 400 kg. To quickly and labor-savingly change the fixture, you need to use auxiliary tools to lift and move the fixture. The auxiliary tooling of the single beam fixture can be modified by using a hydraulic stacker forklift. A clamp beam locking structure is added to the forklift to prevent the clamp from rolling over, or a quick-change forklift boot can be installed on the clamp beam.
Quick design and quick change of small fixtures and parts
Standard quick-change clamp beams can be used when the interchangeability of the clamps on a single clamp beam is high. At this time, the positioning pins on the clamp beam are distributed according to the standard size, and the small-piece fixture can be positioned and matched with the standard size positioning sleeve on the bottom plate, and the quick-change gasket is used for quick clamping. The same structure can be used when the fixture needs to be replaced to accommodate different types of workpieces produced on the same set of fixtures.
When the small fixture or quick-change parts are manually replaced, the weight should be controlled at about 20kg, otherwise special auxiliary tooling is required. When the parts are replaced, the air pipe between the cylinder and the valve can be disassembled through the multi-way quick-change joint, and the valve is left on the clamp beam for repeated use of the replacement jig. The electronically controlled cable connection is disconnected using a multi-pin aviation plug.
With the above quick-change structure, the single-clamp replacement time can be controlled within 10 minutes, which can greatly improve the overall production efficiency of the robot welding system.
