To this end, the Science and Technology Daily reporter specially interviewed Jin Yingxun, co-chair of the World Energy Council. Jin Yingxun is the president of Dacheng Group of Korea. Since 2013, he has served as co-chair of the World Energy Council and will serve as the secretary general of the World Energy Council in October 2016.

Jin Yingxun said that the current work of the World Energy Council is still mainly focused on actively researching and helping countries solve energy problems, promoting the sustainable development and utilization of world energy in the interests of all countries; studying the production of potential energy and various energy sources, Transport and its use methods, explore the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth; collect and exchange data on energy or resource utilization; hold a conference to discuss the contradictions and problems between energy industry and economic development.

At the same time, the World Energy Council is increasingly concerned about the relevance of food, energy and water worldwide. For example, food production requires a lot of water, and part of the energy production, such as biodiesel, requires a lot of corn. Hydropower requires a lot of water, and shale gas and shale oil mining also requires a lot of water. The correlation between the three is getting stronger and stronger with the diversification of development and utilization of energy. In recent years, international events such as the World Energy Congress and the World Water Forum have repeatedly mentioned this proposition and actively studied related solutions. The current situation is that when one of the problems is in crisis, it will have a serious chain reaction and directly threaten the survival and progress of human society.

During his tenure as co-chairman of the World Energy Council, Jin Yingxun always emphasized that “Beyond Energy Transcends Europe”, the significance of transcending energy is to emphasize not studying energy issues in isolation, but to solve the problem of interaction between energy and food and water; The significance is to allow the World Energy Council to expand its influence in Asia and Africa and change the current European-centric landscape. Kim Young-soo said that he will stick to the current slogan after he became the secretary general of the World Energy Council.

Jin Yingxun also expects China to play a bigger role. He said that China has always cooperated with the work of the World Energy Council. In addition to oil, the World Energy Council also studies the development of electricity, coal, and various new energy sources, with high levels of civil participation.

Jin Yingxun said that China's voice within the World Energy Council is becoming more and more important. He expects China's contact with the World Energy Council to be closer.
