Management of nectar flowering and pod formation

I. Temperature management: At this stage, it should be kept warm to prevent the shed temperature from being too high or too low. The suitable temperature range for flowering and pod-forming of lentils is 16-27 °C, which is most suitable for 18-25 °C. When it is lower than 15 °C and higher than 28 °C, it is unfavorable for flowering and pod-forming, which will increase the growth and fall of pods. Especially when it is higher than 32 °C, it not only causes a large number of fallen flowers, but also seriously affects the quality of the product. When the shed temperature is higher than 28 °C, it is necessary to ventilate and cool down.

Second, fertilizer management: lentils in the early flowering period and before sitting on the pod, should not be watered, and should not be topdressed. When the first inflorescence sits on the pod, it begins to water and topdress. Under the mulching cultivation conditions, it is advisable to use a method of pouring dark water under the membrane to apply quick-acting fertilizer or decomposed human excrement with water. Lentils prefer nitrate-nitrogen to ammonia-nitrogen, and ammonia-based nitrogen fertilizer inhibits plant growth and development. Therefore, when applying flowering and pod-forming fertilizer, more urea, ternary compound fertilizer and human excrement are applied. In the lower inflorescence pod stage, generally 12-15 days of watering and topdressing are applied once, each time applying ternary compound per acre. About 10 kg of fertilizer, or 100 kg of human waste. In the period of pods in the middle inflorescence, watering and topdressing are generally carried out for 8-10 days, and 7-8 kg of urea is applied per acre. The upper inflorescence flowering stage, the pod-forming stage and the side branch turning and pod-forming stage are generally watered and topdressed for about 10 days, and each application of urea and potassium sulfate is 5 kg per acre. In the middle and late stages of pod formation, in order to improve the light-transmissive conditions, the middle and lower parts of the old yellow leaves should be removed in time, and some leaves should be removed in the dense leaves and stems, and the late shoots should be removed.
