U.S. company launches home-made ethanol fuel machine

A U.S. company launched the so-called "micro-fuel production machine" in the world, allowing people to make ethanol at home and then directly adding fuel to the car's fuel tank.

According to Singapore Lianhe Zaobao, the biofuels company E-Fuel Corp officially displayed the "MicroFueler" the day before yesterday. This portable mobile production machine is priced at $10,000 and looks like a petrol station. The tanker, but added to the fuel process faster, can produce 35 gallons (about 132 liters) of 100% purity ethanol per week.

The rear end of the fuel production machine is connected to the power supply and water pipes in the home to produce one US dollar per gallon (3.8 liters) of ethanol.

The company said that the biggest selling point of the fuel machine is that the basic raw material for production is sugar, and the price of sugar has always been very cheap. The source of sugar in the world is currently oversupply.

Quine, founder of E-Fuel Corp, said: Although the initial cost of the fuel production machine is high, it will soon be able to recover the cost. For example, he said, one family has two cars and walks 55,520 kilometers every year. If this kind of production machine is used, the cost per gallon of ethanol is only US$1 instead of the current US$3.6 per gallon of gasoline. Within two years, the family will Can get back the cost.

However, ethanol experts doubt whether such production machines have investment value. Professor Cornell University’s Professor Pimentel, who specializes in the economical efficiency of ethanol, said: “I doubt whether this (home-made fuel) approach will work.” Because the fuel used to The production method shows that the greater the scale of production, the more efficient the production process will be.
