At the 2007 National Science and Technology Awards Conference held in Beijing, Macheng, Hubei Province, “Low-temperature oil production and protein processing technology for oils†won the second prize for national scientific and technological progress. This technology is led by Li Yuanliang, chairman of Huayi Bio and China Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Prof. Huang Fenghong from the Oil Research Institute and Professor Wu Moucheng from the Huazhong Agricultural University jointly completed the research and development in seven years and the research and development funds reached more than RMB 14 million.
After identification, if the technology is popularized and applied, the output value of rapeseed in China can be raised from 600 billion to 240 billion yuan, which will increase the utilization rate of more than 8 million tons of rapeseed cakes per year in China from 25% to 95%, in order to solve the problem of food security in China. It has an extremely important role in stimulating technological upgrading of rapeseed processing industry in China, adjusting the structure of rapeseed industry, alleviating the shortage of protein sources in China, food safety issues, and environmental protection issues. At the same time, according to experts' calculations, the use of this technology will directly increase farmers' income by 500 yuan per mu. It is reported that this technology solves the problem of crude oil rapeseed oil processing technology, high-temperature pre-press on the value of rapeseed protein feed damage and waste of protein resources. The rapeseed cake protein content increased from 36% to more than 60%, anti-nutrients were almost completely removed, with high scientific and technological content, comprehensive utilization of resources, recycling economy, alternative imports, national food security and environmental protection and other salient features. This technology also received four national patents, three international advanced level appraisals, one domestic exclusive enterprise standard, Hubei Province Science and Technology Progress First Prize, Ministry of Education Science and Technology Achievement Award and other awards.
At present, Huayi Company has applied this technical achievement to implement a 40,000-ton vegetable-cut deep processing project in Macheng Industrial Park, and has completed an investment of 32 million yuan. After the project is completed, it can increase sales revenue by 240 million yuan and increase profits and taxes by 3,500 yuan. Ten thousand yuan, the new 170,000 pig breeding and 20,000 mu aquaculture supporting capacity, can also drive 100,000 farmers to develop rapeseed production and pig breeding, directly pulling farmers to increase annual income of more than 90 million yuan. After scientific investigation and identification, Huayi is the first company in the world to carry out large-scale, deep processing of rapeseed protein and industrialization projects.
