Under the most pessimistic projections, the wind power market may stagnate or even contract slightly by 2015, before possibly declining by 10% compared to 2011 levels. However, if governments continue to provide strong and effective support, the market could experience substantial growth between 2015 and 2020. This could lead to a total installed capacity of between 1,600 GW and 2,500 GW by 2030, showing just how much potential wind energy holds for the future of global energy production.
