This thin-film electroluminescent (EL) sheet is fabricated using the screen printing technique. The production process requires a highly controlled environment, specifically a dust-free cleanroom with a cleanliness level of at least 300,000-grade.
1. Substrate Preparation: A. The transparent front electrode is created by depositing Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) onto a PET polyester film. B. An organic conductive paste is then printed onto a specialized film to serve as an alternative conductive substrate. Instead of traditional ITO, this paste can be applied via screen printing with mesh counts ranging from 120T to 140T.
2. Light-Emitting Layer Printing: The luminescent powder is blended with an organic polymer binder to form a luminescent paste suitable for screen printing. This paste is then printed onto the ITO-coated substrate with a thickness of approximately 30 to 40 micrometers, using a 60T to 100T mesh screen.
3. Insulation Layer Printing: Barium titanate powder is mixed with an organic polymer binder to create an insulating paste that can also be screen-printed. This insulating paste is applied over the light-emitting layer with a thickness of around 20 to 30 micrometers, using a 60T to 100T mesh screen.
4. Back Electrode Printing: Conductive silver paste is printed onto the insulation layer to function as the back electrode. The thickness should be between 8 to 12 micrometers, which can be achieved using a screen mesh count of 80T to 100T.
5. Protective Layer Printing: UV-curable ink is printed over the back electrode to provide additional insulation and protection. Screen printing with mesh counts from 120T to 140T is recommended for this step.
6. Luminous Front Pattern Printing: The final layer involves printing the desired front pattern onto the sheet.
7. Assembly: The process concludes with several steps including: â—‹1 cutting the sheets to size; â—‹2 attaching electrodes; â—‹3 applying a protective plastic layer (either single or double-sided); â—‹4 inspecting the finished product; and â—‹5 packaging for distribution.
