Wear the helmet correctly and play the three functions of the helmet

Wearing a hard hat is not just about putting it on your head—it's about using it correctly to ensure maximum protection. Before putting on the helmet, adjust the rear cap system according to the shape of your head and fasten the chin strap securely. The cushioning pad inside is pre-adjusted at the factory, but the vertical distance between the top of your head and the inner part of the helmet should be between 25 and 50 mm, with a minimum of 32 mm. This space allows the helmet to absorb impact effectively and ensures good ventilation. The main purpose of a safety helmet is to protect workers from falling objects. When an object hits the helmet, the shell and liner work together to spread the impact force over the entire skull area. The helmet’s design uses elastic and plastic deformation in various parts to absorb most of the energy, reducing the force that reaches the head to 4900 N or less, which helps prevent serious injury. To ensure effectiveness, choose a certified helmet and use it properly. Always check for damage before wearing—make sure all parts are intact, the adjustment mechanism is secure, and the straps are tight. Adjust the inner band so it fits snugly without being too tight. For high-risk jobs, always secure the chin strap and neck band to prevent the helmet from slipping off. If a helmet has been hit and shows any signs of cracks, deformation, or damage, stop using it immediately and replace it. Most helmets have a lifespan of about three years, and even if they appear undamaged, regular inspections are essential. Look for cracks, dents, or wear, and replace them as needed. A helmet that has suffered a major impact should be discarded regardless of visible damage, as internal structural failure may compromise its protective function. Proper care and usage of a safety helmet can save lives. Always take the time to fit it correctly and inspect it regularly. Safety starts with awareness and responsibility.
