At the same time, due to the tremendous progress made in the fields of artificial intelligence technology, neural network technology and optical fiber technology, it has opened up a vast world for the development of mechatronics technology. These studies will promote mechatronics to further establish a complete foundation and gradually form a complete scientific system.

China has only begun to research and apply in this area since the early 1980s. The State Council established the Mechatronics Leading Group and listed the technology as the “863 Program”. In the formulation of the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" and the 2010 Development Outline, the international development trend of mechatronics technology and its possible impact were fully considered. Many colleges and universities, research institutes and some large and medium-sized enterprises have done a lot of work on the development and application of this technology, and have achieved certain results, but there is still a considerable gap compared with advanced countries such as Japan.
